FEELINGS OF DREAD

Bernie Sanders is certainly not the first leader, of a
revolution, to see the participants, in same, turn into a mob.

As usual, the mob turns into the very antithesis of what the revolution tries to attain.

I fear that today's events, in Philadelphia, have played into the Trump narrative, and Trump has won.  I pray that I am wrong.

  1. The DNC brought some of this upon themselves ... you reap what you sow. I hope that your prayers are answered ... few of mine are. Switchboard overload?

  2. We all pray you are wrong but I share your concern. The fact that the polls are this tight and even have Trump up in the current average is frightening. We all in the past have played the political game and ranted about the prospects of the other side. For the first time in history we seriously could elect the last President of the USA. The Bernie crowd needs to wake up to that fact. I am a Bernie supporter and align with his principles and ideology more than I do Hillary but the prospects of a Trump administration is inconceivable.

  3. I had just finished reading the NYTimes' Roger Cohen column (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/26/opinion/trump-and-the-end-of-truth.html?login=email), which, for those you have used their 10 free-access, I will gladly copy full text onto my emails, when notified of this post. The sense of dread that the blog conveys is desperately echoed, to include Putin's role, the insanity in the U. K., and the lack of fictitious purity demanded on Hillary:

"Writing into such an environment is like directing a canoe into a gale. Still, here goes, while words still have some meaning. ... As George Orwell observed, 'From the totalitarian point of view history is something to be created rather than learned.' ... Orwell again: 'Totalitarianism demands, in fact, the continuous alteration of the past, and in the long run probably demands a disbelief in the very existence of objective truth.' ... (Trump) may well win. Anyone denying this has not grasped that 'epidemic suggestion' tends to be unstoppable."

(Believe his column to be written prior to the Sanders' supporters absurdity.) I don't want to hear "you reap what you sow." Then, we deserve Trump for the incredible tolerance we have afforded him, dominated by our civic laziness. We don't pray here, but they say that occurs in the trenches. We're in the trenches.

    1. The simple solution is to get people out to vote. If enough Democrats don't vote, Trump will win. So, I guess we will see whether apathy or desire reigns. Let's hope desire for a better future wins. If not enough Democrats can be persuaded to vote, then Democrats deserve to lose and they can't blame Trump for their apathy. If Trump's wickedness can't inspire people to vote against him, then what can?

In my heart, I can't believe that more people want a narcissistic, pathological liar and con man than a woman president. Democrats need more than just a majority of the popular vote to win a majority of the electoral votes. Get every liberal you know out to vote ... no excuses.
