THE CONSUMATE WORDSMITH

In recent times, at campaign rallies, I hear Trump making references to bovine excrement with more and more frequency. The T.V networks no longer seem to bother to bleep the term out.  I cannot think of another single person who has done more to elevate the status of "shit" more than Donald Trump.

FLAWED POLICY

The whole idea of using brute force to resolve immigration issues is flawed.  The more pain we inflict on governments, already in trouble, to get them to stop emigration, the more presssure is put on their people to emigrate.

TO DETER CARAVANS

When first I heard the expression "Caravan of Asylum Seekers", frankly, despite being a long time resident of Central America, it was completely new to me.  A "google" search of whether such a thing was ever reported prior to the Trump Administration revealed  no entries and as far as I can find, never occurred, for example, in Obama's time in office, or even, for that matter, in Bush's administration.

To suddenly have happened would have required the assistance of so-called "coyotes"  who would have spread spread rumors, by word of mouth, to the effect that, this was a viable method to get through.  It never happened before because our State Department had contacts to get word of mouth through radio programs to the small towns.  Somewhere the system brokedown; as late as the second year of the Trump Administartion, publications such as Bloomberg, were lamenting the fact that there were gaping vacancies in our State Depatment that had still not been filled. 

I believe that a wall, a device that can be breached, scaled or tunneled under, is not what's needed but our broken government needs mending.

EASIER SAID THAN DONE

I recently heard a liberal commentator, lament the fact that while Kennedy could announce a project, such as going to the moon and actually follow it up and have it accomplished, Trump announces projects but with no follow up at all.  I, of course, consider that a cheap shot.  After all not only is it a lot easier to announce something than to actually do it but when Kennedy announced we were going to the moon, our highest marginal tax rate was 91% and we actually had the money to go the moon.  Now, since only our corporations have the money, thanks to much lower marginal rates, we have to wait for shareholders, of our corporation, to decide whether they can spare the money from their dividends, to even go back to the moon. 

Until that time, Trump is trying to be nice to us so as not to feel too bad about those trillion dollar tax cuts for the billionaires of the country.

NO MATTER WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE ME BELIEVE

I heard, with my own ears, the man say, in at television interview, that the reason he fired Comey was because the investigation was a hoax, a determination which was an abuse of power.

SECOND THOUGHTS

Donald Trump is reported to have said that, had he known how much trouble a hoax investigation could cause, he would never have asked Vladimir Putin to intervene in his election.

GUILTY BEFORE THE CRIME

I cannot help but feel  that parents, of children ,who bought their way into certain colleges, did so out of feelings of guilt for not having raised those children to be able to make it on their own.  Not only did they compound the problems for the children but now for themselves as well.

PATRON SAINT OF THE SLEAZY

Evangelicals ask for Trump's signature on their Bibles because they know a good candidate for canonization when they see one.  Aftrer all even pimps, madames  and massage parlor operators are entitled
to representation.

BLATANT ANTI-SEMITISM

Critics of Saudi Arabia are anti-semitic and should be punished accordingly.  It's about time that we take action to prevent aspersions on our long time friend and ally, Saudi Arabia.

DIRTY OLD MAN WITH A FLAG FETISH?

I worry about the way Trump leers at and strokes the American Flag at his campaign rallies.  What if he soils the flag in front of his yuge audiences? There really ought to be an intervention.

THE JOKE'S ON US

Trump c;laims that he only asked the Russians to look for Clinton's emails as a joke.  He is, shortly, expected to claim that his private meetings with Putin, with no transcript, is only because he is swapping dirty jokes with him.  Lighten up folks!

PROTOCOLS FOR SECURITY CLEARANCES

I'm sorry but I cannot help but being somewhat persuaded by the Trump family view that security clearance precedents of the U.S. should not be applicable to them.  They make a strong case that those of our ally, the U.K., as applied to their Royal family, should be applicable, under the new circumstances that exist in this country.
