BLUE LINE MONOLOG

"Yeah, I know I probably should have gotten that black ninny some medical attention before dumping his, like a sack of potatoes, into the paddy wagon, and yeah I know I should have buckled him in, but, hey, look at them out there!  Rioting, burning their own stores.  Why they're animals.  Can you blame me for not treating them better?  And by the way, get this straight, there's not a racist bone in my body!"

THE BUGGY WHIP BARON

To truly understand the Koch Brothers, one should  know about the parable of Benny the Buggy Whip Baron.  Benny cornered the market in Buggy Whips, and had the equivalent of  in today's dollars, of $1 Trillion in stock and production facilities, just as the age of the automobile dawned.  Faced with  bleak prospects, Benny sought the advice of a noted seer.  Benny was told that it would take, at a minimum, an act of Congress to provide relief, but while the purchase of Congress was very feasible, the  trillion dollar "bail-out" would not be invented until 2008.  In effect, poor  Benny was told that he was born 100 years too soon.

The Koch Bros. faced with similar circumstances, know that not only are trillion dollar bail-outs with precedent, financing of same using virtual, not real dollars, has also been invented.  The Koch Bros. are investing heavily in getting that Act of Congress , needed for that trillion dollar bail-out, to get them out of a business faced with possible obsolescence,    What buggy whip barons found impossible, are feasible for fossile fuel magnates.

CONFLICTING POINTS OF VIEW

If the next Presidential election cycle runs true to form, millions of dollars will be spent, by Republicans, to convince voters not to vote for Hilary Clinton because, if elected, she will be the oldest female President to leave the office.  Democrats will, likely, spend an equal amount to convince the voters that it is not so and she will actually be the youngest.

TO THE TIP OF ONE'S NOSE

In Civics classes, in elementary school, we were taught that one's rights extended only to the tip of our respective noses.  Our rights could not interefere or impinge on the rights of others.  Recently, we are being told that the right to religious freedom trumps the rights of others.  A person, who does business under a Government license, in a Government zoned area, that depends on Government paved streets and communal transportation to bring customers and supplies to his or her business, has the right to prevent public access to certain individuals, on religious grounds.  We feel that to do so extends their rights well beyond the intended target and puts one's nose into areas it shouldn't be in.

GUT FEELING

Though it could turn out to be minor indigestion, I have a gut feeling that, rather than try to torpedo the Iran treaty, Netanyahu not withstanding, Republicans want to get some of the credit for an historic policy change, which is why the rush to have a say in terms of the treaty rather than just an up or down vote on the treaty itself. If it works, let it be!  As for Bibi, if an Iran treaty, with Republicans on board, goes into effect, I, for one, think he'll make as pretty a picture twisting in the wind, as ever I have seen.

A DIAGNOSTIC TEST?

It is most remarkable that the same people who so excoriated President Obama for the inadequacy of his policy of bombing 60,000 to 100,000 ISIL fighters without concurrently sending ground troops, are those who are assuring us that Iran, a nation of more than 70 million and more than 600,000 sq. miles in area,
will  capitulate after a short bombardment.  There is enough of a disconnect between  holding these conflicting positions and reality that same could justifiably serve as a clinical test for certification of the mentally ill.

THE REAL MASTERMIND OF THE 9/11 TERROR ATTACK

The real mastermind of the 9/11 terror attack is alive and well....and living in Wyoming.
