BEING SHREWD IS NOT BEING WISE

By agreeing to speak before Congress without the express approval of the President, Netanyahu has made a very shrewd move.  By interfering into American  partisan politics, he has made  perhaps the unwisest move ever made by any Israeli politician.  Democratic voters still outnumber Republicans, in General Elections, and if there is a backlash, at any time, it is not to Israel's interest to  be labeled  as a Republican party.  If it turns out that Obama could have had detente with Iran but for the intervention, into American politics, by the Israelis, the long term consequences could be devastating.

  2. It is interesting to note what some of the Israelis think about what Bibi has done. http://www.haaretz.com/blogs/west-of-eden/.premium-1.638601

"Kerry's comment altered the conversation, making it about whether Republicans want to torpedo nuclear talks with Iran. ... the Mossad comments gave the administration a new talking point in convincing lawmakers to oppose sanctions, Lake and Rogin claimed. The Jerusalem Post quoted Israeli officialscalling Kerry's revelation "Obama's revenge" for the Boehner invite.
