TRUMP'S IMPEACHMENT APPEAL TO THE SUPREME COURT

For the Supreme Court to assist Trump in the matter of impeachment, he would have to have them rule that the Constitution, itself, was unconstitutional.  Since the power of impeachment resides solely with the House of Representatives, in response, they might have to impeach a few Supreme Court justices to revert back to the Constitution as written.

  1. In 1955, when my family moved to the United States, one of the concepts that was inculcated, through listening to my parents’ conversation, was the admiration of the country abiding by the rule of law. A commonplace example: obeying traffic rules, i .e. traffic lights, stop/yield signs, double line markings ... to name a few. From where we emigrated, it was every man for himself, with no enforced discipline. Chaos. Throughout the years, as the naïveté of awe became more balanced, what seemed to remain constant was the respect of the contract that had been pledged to by those governing us. The Constitution. We invoke the Founding Fathers with almost religious devotion, admiring their wisdom in providing a three branch format of governance meant to assure the citizenry of checks-and-balances against deviance from the rule of law. As imperfect as those initial guides might have been, the Founding Fathers even addressed the steps in correcting dictates of the time. Not easy ... just try to pass a new amendment! No hasty step. The rules are there. Along comes a reality entertainment con man, running a family business (no public stockholders), who bullies his way into saying that the law is what he says it is and, therefore, entitled to reject anything that he finds inconvenient. Rule by tantrum and intimidation. Not only has he emasculated his political party, but he is now asking the courts ... perhaps all the way to the Supreme Court ... to re-write the Constitution. By stacking the Supreme Court with mediocre justices, will he have succeeded in also emasculating that institution? Character impairment does not equate with honesty. Without a moral compass, the ship of state is floundering. The savagery of his ignorance has untold, though imaginable, repercussions.

Wonder how we would all like to live in a country with no respect for traffic laws. Every man for himself.

  2. I remember back to the time when your parents were recently arrived to the U.S. and remember the awe in which they held the U.S. Looking back, they were right even if we had a blemish or two, then. I am shamed to think what unbridled greed has led to; what would they think of us now?
