VOTER SUPPRESSION

A minority that, faced with voter suppression, does not show up at the polls, as a protest, in effect is contributing to its own eventual disenfranchisement, and ultimately to its own subjugation.   In our society, a small minority that votes counts a whole lot more than a large minority that doesn't vote.

  1. People on the side of good have always had a hard time understanding how the evil side works ... it's incomprehensible in their minds. Even GOP voters often vote against their own best interests ... but, at least they vote.

  2. It's too early to decide that blacks aren't showing up.My guess is that suppression has become more sophisticated and court intervention more delayed and unpredictable. The threat of violence is still present in the "sophistication".

  3. Something happened to the Obama coalition that won in 2012. The U.S. is made up of minorities that form coalitions and in Florida voter suppression consisted of cutting down voting hours not voter intimidation. Trump took Florida. I attribute it to voter apathy.

  4. One of the other minorities that, judging from observation, locally, may be so-called millennials, many who were to self-absorbed to actually spare the time to vote.
