WAR TIME PRESIDENT

Trump imagines himself as a wartime President. I imagine Trump as President in 1941 at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  I  cannot help envisioning that one of  Trump's first acts would have been to cede California, New York, Illinois, Oregon, and Washington to the Japanese because, after all, they are Blue States and resources for fighting a war, on their behalf, would be wasted.

Six months after Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Navy crushed the Japanese fleet at Midway, halting Japanese expansion putting them into a defensive mode, thereafter.  Had the Japanese inflicted a quarter-million casualties on the U.S., without a single casualty in return,, who knows, maybe Roosevelt would have surrendered just as Trump has surrendered to the Covid virus?
