So little credit is given the President for his evolving positions with respect those people who are losers. He has gone from scorn for those who have been captured by the enemy, such as John McCain, to a much more humane view of those people who want to honor losers, such as Confederate Generals.
Liberals just don't seem to want to take his change in position into account.
