THE NEW PATRIOTISM: EXTOLLING ONE'S SWORN ENEMIES?

Can somebody explain to me just how carrying the flags of one time sworn enemies, who have killed and maimed our troops, and defending statues of their leaders, makes one a patriotic American?

While it is within the rights of Americans to walk around with Confederate flags and those of Nazi Germany, and to defend the placement of statues of sworn enemies of this nation, what gives neo-Nazis and their ilk, the right to declare themselves as better Americans than those who are against their agenda?
